Play Dough

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 ¼ cup water
3 Tablespoons oil
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
Food coloring, if desired
Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a saucepan to get rid of lumps. Cook over low-medium heat. Stir constantly until it forms a large lump. Knead until smooth. Store in an airtight plastic bag.
